Migrating to the cloud with NHL, AWS, and Verizon | On March 22nd, 2024, the hockey game between the Capitals and the Hurricanes was broadcast on the NHL Network in Capital One Arena in Washington DC. The NHL and Verizon produced the 5G-enabled live broadcast fully in the cloud on AWS at 1080p, with a mostly remote team, using TriCaster Vectar for production switching and Viz Trio for graphics.
Vizrt and AWS worked on the project for over a year. Joining us on the Vizrt stage, we will discuss migrating to the cloud, creating two shows simultaneously (one for the NHL Network and one for NHL EDGE Unlocked, heavy on stats), and how they leverage today’s technology to create enhanced viewer experiences.
