Viz Content Pilot 5.3.0 released
December 1, 2009
Viz Content Pilot 5.3.0 is a minor release with some new features, and bug fixes.
It is recommended as an update to all 5.0 and 5.1 installations, as well as for new installations.
Viz Content Pilot
New Features
- New media search frame in the Newsroom component.
- Newsroom component is more responsive as the data list and template list is fetched in a separate thread. This means that you can double click an item for editing and have it opened up immediately without having to wait for the Newsroom component to load the afore mentioned lists.
- Execution Logic – possible to write MSE logic in VTW that will be executed by the MSE when a data element is played, read, cued and so on.
- Resources used by Live Update templates are reclaimed when closing the respective playlists.
- Viz Content Pilot now has HTML help files.
Fixed issues
- Drag and drop of data elements into Avid iNews is now supported for non-ascii characters.
- Viz Curious Maps Editor will now be shown in a sufficiently large window.
- Transition logic templates with front scenes containing '=' in the scene name would not be correctly returned from the database.
- Spellchecker no longer halts on special characters.
- Overall improvements to the Viz Link workflow.
Viz Media Sequencer Engine
Fixed issues
- Fixed the mechanism that deletes old log-files.
- Fixed a bug causing the MSE installer to fail when installing on systems where the 'Application Data' folder contained special characters.
- Transfer of clips now works for non-concept enabled shows in Trio.
- No longer telling Viz to add empty images, result being no more "image location invalid" errors in situations where we have elements with ControlImage without an image set.
- Fixed a bug that could make the Media Sequencer crash when using the set as next functionality in the Ticker Client.
- Fixed a bug introduced in 1.19.0 which made it unable to run scrolling carousels in a ticker system.
- Fixed a bug in 1.19.0 that made ticker elements using the Time To Live feature to stop working.
- Overall improvements to the Viz Link workflow.
Important installation notes:
This release has been tested to work with:
- Viz Content Pilot DBA 1.1
- Viz Engine 2.8 and 3.2
- Extra Viz Plugins 1.9.1 (For Viz Engine 2.x and 3.x versions)
- Ticker Viz Plugins 1.9.1 (For Viz Engine 2.x and 3.x versions)
- Viz Media Sequencer Engine 1.19.1
- Viz Multiplexer 1.4
Upgrading to 5.3.0 requires an update of the database schema using the VCP Database Administrator (VCP DBA). The upgrade scripts are supplied with the installation package.
Note: Upgrading from a VCP version below 5.x requires a major update of the database structure and therefore recommended to be performed in coordination with Vizrt support
