Viz Curious Maps Client and Server version 9 released

April 7, 2009

Version 9 of Viz Curious Maps Client (CMC) and Server (CMS) is a major release.

It is recommended for users who require the new features and for new installations.

If you plan to upgrade from an older version, it is recommended to upgrade to this version.

New Features:

  • Server redundancy and load balancing - The new Server Allocator distributes client requests between the registered servers and server machines, balancing server loads and the number of client requests. When configured in a complex environment, multiple map servers with multiple Server Allocators can be used to allow full redundancy and optimal resource distribution.
  • Auto labeling - With the new LabelManager plug-in a scene can use automatic labelling based on pre-defined designs.
  • 2D map labels - Easily create 2D map labels, based on labels received from the selected map or automatically generated labels defined by the LabelManager plug-in.
  • 3D lines - Create shape lines and lines between label locations in Viz Curious Maps Editor and more with the new 3DLine plug-in.
  • Trace - Use the new TraceIt plug-in to place a 3D object over a line, created with the 3DLine plug-in, to follow the line animation.
  • Scale - Maintain the scale of an object during a Navigator animation with the new NavScale plug-in.
  • Fade - Define the visibility of an object that the new NavFade plug-in is attached to in a Navigator scene to determine when the object will become visible.
  • Documentation - A new administrator's guide.
