About Vizrt
Vizrt is a Norwegian software company specializing in video production technology and offering end-to-end solutions from ingest to visualization and playout. Vizrt is headquartered in Bergen, Norway and listed in the Oslo Stock Exchange and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The company has, amongst others, offices in Austria, Sweden, China, Israel, Japan, the UK and the USA.
History
Vizrt was founded following a series of mergers between companies in the broadcast industry starting in the early nineties. In 1999 the Austrian Peak Software Technologies and the Norwegian based Pilot Broadcast Systems AS merged to form Peak Broadcast Systems. In July 2000, Peak Broadcast Systems merged with the Israeli company RT-SET to form Vizrt.
Acquisitions
2005: Vizrt acquires Curious Software, a producer of map software
2005: Vizrt acquires 19% of Adactus Ltd., a company offering solutions for mobile terminals
2006: Vizrt acquires Ardendo, a software company focusing on Media Asset Management solutions
2008: Vizrt acquires Escenic, one of the frontrunners in on-line publishing.

Vizrt’s product suite is used by the world’s leading broadcasters including: CNN, CBS, Fox, BBC, Sky, ITN, ZDF, Star TV, TV Today, CCTV and NHK. In addition, many world-class production houses and corporate institutions, including both the New York and London Stock Exchanges, rely on Vizrt solutions.
