Vizrt Revises Marketing Plan for 2009
Bergen, Norway, May 4th 2009 Vizrt Ltd. (Frankfurt Prime Standard, Oslo Main List: VIZ). Vizrt announced today that the global economic crisis has resulted in a radical restructuring of the company’s marketing plans for the rest of the year. Following lower than expected visitor numbers at NAB, Vizrt will now have a presence at many more local conventions and markets as well as going on the road for a campaign of regional roadshows. However, one of the casualties of these changes will be Vizrt’s attendance at IBC in September 2009.
Vizrt’s CEO Bjarne Berg explained the changes, “We took this decision after careful consideration and following discussions with our customer base. During NAB, it was clear that many customers found it hard to justify the expense of international travel unless they were very senior or they had major projects to discuss. However, at these big shows the few people that do get to travel will now be in huge demand and can only spare a short time to visit. If they are not highly technically either, they may not easily appreciate the huge positive impact that our systems would have on their broadcast operations. So, we decided to ‘move the mountain to Mohammed’ and to bring our products directly to our customers instead. We did not set out to make this a money-saving exercise; we just wanted to make the best use of our marketing resources under economic constraints placed on our customers.”
Berg added, “At Vizrt we are proud of the fact that we keep a finger firmly on the pulse of the industry sectors we work with. We have superb technological solutions ready to go for those customers who are about to add new media platforms to their distribution mix. We look out for new hardware configurations, or extra modules or plug-ins to improve workflows all the time. And we now have recognized that we must adapt quickly to the challenges that the global economic crisis has thrown at us. We hope that this decision to show our latest and best products right on our customers’ doorsteps will be appreciated by them and that will mean many more of our customers will get to see our latest developments and can talk to our programmers and system specialists right there on the spot. We will see how it goes this year and may consider a combination of local shows and a presence at IBC if the global economy improves by next year.” Mr. Berg concluded.
