Vizrt announces that Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR), a leading public broadcaster in Munich, Germany, is producing live, realtime 3D maps and geographic animations using a variety of Vizrt software. BR presents the graphics with an interactive touchscreen display during educational television and possibly in prospective sporting programs.

Vizrt announces the introduction of the upgraded Version 2.0 of its Viz Video Hub plug-and-play asset management (MAM) system. Among other significant enhancements, Version 2.0 provides extended support for archiving through a Tape Robot feature. The Tape Robot support enables broadcasters to archive huge amounts of video assets directly within Viz Video Hub. And it can serve as a long-term storage solution because the Tape Robot hardware exchanges outdated tapes automatically.

24 Media, producers of Greece’s largest online network, has chosen Escenic’s Content Engine to manage their content. Located in Athens, Greece, 24 Media produces news, sports statistics and multimedia content for 24 Media sites such as www.sport24.gr & www.contra.gr, as well as all of Greece’s major mobile and SMS news services, and various third party sites.

Vizrt’s Viz Engine 3.3 once again powered graphics within a one-operator system developed by Berlin-based netventure for the HD production of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2009. The Red Bull XFighter series is one of the largest freestyle motocross contests. This year’s series made five stops around the globe, beginning in Mexico, moving on to Canada and the US and ending in London. All of the Red Bull X-Fighter series broadcasts were produced in HD and seen live on the ESPN Network in the U.S. The tour began in late March and concluded on August 22 in London.

Vizrt announces today that the Swedish Parliament—known as Sveriges Riksdag in Stockholm, Sweden—has chosen a Vizrt digital media asset management (MAM) system to automate the workflow process as part of an overhaul of its Web portal. The portal is designed to provide live and on-demand video of speeches, debates, and other newsworthy events to the Swedish public and media. (A portal is a site that creates a single point of access to information collected from different sources.)

Vizrt today announces that the company will demonstrate the latest versions in its wide product range at the 19th Broadcast India 2009 Exhibition. Application to be Submitted for Frankfurt Delisting

Vizrt announced today that the global economic crisis has resulted in a radical restructuring of the company’s marketing plans for the rest of the year. Following lower than expected visitor numbers at NAB, Vizrt will now have a presence at many more local conventions and markets as well as going on the road for a campaign of regional roadshows. However, one of the casualties of these changes will be Vizrt’s attendance at IBC in September 2009.
